Loving God With All Your Mind

LOVING GOD WITH ALL YOUR MIND

Unfiltered Love: Real, Raw and unreasonable for God

“… Love the Lord with all your heart” or ‘Love the Lord with all your soul’ — He said ‘with all your mind.”  Matthew 22:37

*It’s about aligning your thinking with His truth; allowing your reasoning to be shaped by His Word, and using your mental faculties to pursue a deeper relationship with Him.

HOW TO LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR MIND

1. ENGAGE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH GOD’S TRUTH.

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)

Jesus: “… If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 (NIV)

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”   Romans 12:2 (NLT)

2. BE INTENTIONAL WITH YOUR THOUGHTS.

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”   Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”   2 Corinthians 10:5 (NLT)

3. OBEY GOD WITH YOUR DECISIONS.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”  James 1:5 (NLT)

“If you love me, obey my commandments.”  John 14:15 (GW)

4. USE YOUR MENTAL CAPACITY FOR GOD’S GLORY.

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”   Psalm 139:14 (NLT)

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward…”   Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)

5. PURSUE WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING.

“‘Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?’ But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”   1 Corinthians 2:16 (NLT)

“Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God.”  Proverbs 2:2-5 (NLT)

“… The LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”   Proverbs 2:6 (NIV)
