JESUS CAME TO TELL US THE TRUTH
JESUS MAKES HEADLINES
(Jesus to Pilate) “… This is why I was born and came into the world: to tell people the truth. And everyone who belongs to the truth listens to Me.” John 18:37 (NCV)
Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 (NIV)

Truth #1 – The truth of it is, I cannot hide my PAST from God.
THREE INEFFECTIVE WAYS TO DEAL WITH SIN IN OUR LIFE:
1. IGNORE
2. TRY HARD TO BE GOOD
3. INDULGE
“You’re only as sick as your secrets.”
“A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful. But if he confesses and forsakes them, he gets another chance.” Proverbs 28:13 (TLB)
*Take a First Step Toward Truth: Be honest with yourself and be honest with God!
Truth #2 – The truth of it is, Jesus knows ALL ABOUT ME, and still loves me.
Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future!
*Take a Second Step Toward Truth: Believe that the one who knows you best, loves you most!
Truth #3 – The truth of it is my sin has its CONSEQUENCES.
“What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others – ignoring God! – harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8 (MSG)
*Take a Third Step Toward Truth: Understand that God loves us just the way we are, but He loves us enough not to leave us that way.
Truth #4 – The truth of it is, Jesus is the only one who can satisfy my THIRST.
“If you knew who I was, you would have asked Me, and I would have given you living water.” John 4:10
“… Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst again, but the water I give shall become inside a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 4:14
Jesus said, “… I will give… to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.” Revelations 21:6 (NAS)
*Final Steps to Truth – Admit your emptiness and accept Jesus’ offer of satisfaction.
“If you are thirsty, come to Me! If you believe in Me, come and drink!” John 7:37-38
