Living With A Biblical Worldview

LIVING WITH A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW
Reframe: Embracing a Biblical Worldview

“Anyone who says [he’s] a Christian should live as Christ did.”  1 John 2:6 (TLB)

Jesus: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with mewatch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:29-30 (MSG)

To live like Jesus means to live:

1. WITH DISCERNMENT
“Don’t be [nitpickers]; but use your head and heart to discern what is right to test what is authentically truth.” John 7:24 (MSG)

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”  1 John 4:1

“Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid all evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

2. WITH INTEGRITY
“If you are filled with light, with no dark [parts], then your whole life will be radiant…” Luke 11:36 (NLT)

3. WITH HUMILITY
“Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 5:3 (NIV)

“God blesses those who… realize their need for Him…” Matthew 5:3 (NLT)

4. WITH SIMPLICITY
“… Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; [a man’s] life does not consist in the abundance of [his] possessions.” Luke 12:15 (NIV)

“[How] do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your soul [in the process]? Is anything worth more than your soul?” Matthew 16:26 (NLT)

5. WITH POSSIBILITY
“… With God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26 (NLT)

“Everything is possible for him who believes.” Mark 9:2

6. WITH HOSPITALITY
“If you [welcome] a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will receive the same reward a prophet gets… And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers you will surely be rewarded.” Matthew 10:41-42 (NLT)

“[Whatever] you did for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me … [and when] you failed to help any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you failed to do it for me.” Matthew 25:40; 45 (CEV)

7. WITH CIVILITY
“Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.” Matthew 5:9

“… In everything, do to others what you’d have them do to you…” Matthew 7:12 (NIV)

“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight…” Matthew 5:9 (MSG)

8. WITH CHARITY
“I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the [energies] of prayer.” Matthew 5:44 (MSG)

“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8

9. WITH GENEROSITY

“Give, and it will be given to you… For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38 (NIV)

10. WITH PRIORITY
“Seek the Kingdom of God] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

“If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.” Matthew 10:39 (MSG)
