RESOLVING LIFE’S KEY ISSUES
God Wants to Use You!
• LIFE’S KEY ISSUES
Hebrews 11:23-27
1. I MUST DEFINE MY GOD GIVEN IDENTITY.
“By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.” Hebrews 11:24
“You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother’s body… All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old.” Psalm 139:15-16 (NCV)
2. I MUST ACCEPT MY RESPONSIBILITY.
“He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the [pleasures of sin for a short time].”
Hebrews 11:25 (NIV)
* I can’t blame others for the direction of my life.
* I can’t live off other’s spiritual commitment.
“… Each of us will give an account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12
3. I MUST DETERMINE MY PRIORITIES.
“He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.” Hebrews 11:26 (NIV)
The World’s Value System:
* Power/Prestige (vs. 24)
* Pleasure (vs. 25)
* Possessions (vs. 26)
Moses’ Values:
I. God’s PURPOSE is more valuable than popularity. (vs. 24)
II. God’s PEOPLES are more valuable than pleasures. (vs. 25)
III. God’s PEACE is more valuable than possessions. (vs. 26)
“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus…” Philippians 3:8 (TLB)
4. I MUST CHOOSE MY AUTHORITY.
“By faith, Moses left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:27
“… How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him…” 1 Kings 18:21 (NIV)
Joshua: “… [You may] choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:14-15
